Spectropolarimetry has been used to detect broad polarized H-beta and H-alpha in the nuclear spectra of four Seyfert 2 galaxies, Mrk 477, Mrk 1210, NGC 7212, and Was 49b. The simplest explanation for the origin of the polarization in these objects is scattering. The flatness of the P and PF(lambda) spectra favors electron over dust scattering, but both processes may be in operation. The detection of polarized permitted broad lines in these Seyfert galaxies expands the sample of known such objects to a total of about 10 and provides additional support for the obscuration/reflection picture of the unified Seyfert theory.
