The detection of comparatively short period fluctuations of the integrated intensity related to the p-mode oscillations of the sun is discussed. These pulsations have also been detected in the solar brightness fluctuations; the sun has been observed through the reflected light of Uranus and Neptune as though it were a distant star. The detection and analysis of low harmonic order pulsations through broad-band photometry is found to be of importance for studies of the deep interiors of stars.
