A method for detecting giant muon families (220 GeV and greater) is presented. Results of the detection of giant muon families by the underground scintillation telescope of the Baksan Neutrino Observatory over a period of 31,648 hours are discussed. The general design, operation, and performance charactistics of the telescope are briefly described.
