We report the detection of compact SiO maser emission at 43 GHz in nine circumstellar shells of late-type stars and in Orion using a three-station VLB-interferometer in Europe. Our projected baseline range was 330-1740 km, providing a fringe spacing of 0.8 - 4.4 mas. Our observations show that the maser emitting regions present structure at almost an order of magnitude smaller scales than previously reported. In several objects we found evidence for complex maser emission, suggesting the existence of multiple maser spots on miliiarcsecond-scales.
