Using V-band images from the GOODS archive, we have generated a photometric catalog of galaxy nuclei at five separate epochs spanning a total of 6 months. We focus on a sub-section of the data in the south field and select variables as those showing significant variability over the photometric noise in one or more epoch pairing. We study the properties of these objects over a six month period. The majority of these variables are expected to be AGN. We compare the detected variables with x-ray sources in the field and comment on the population of short-term, variable AGN out to redshifts of 1. Support for this research is provided by NASA through grant AR-9948.01 from the Space Telescope Science Institute.
