A plate taken at more than six lunar radii with automatic photometric equipment onboard 'Zond-8' is developed and analyzed. The brightness structure of a number of objects on the western edge of the moon and the region of transition from the mare to the continent are studied. The radiance of the bright craters is found to be asymmetric in structure. Some formations in the mare are seen to have focal points: there are two areas of dark matter in the southern mare separated by an extended ridge. In the transition region there is a correlation between the albedo and high-altitude levels of deposited material.
