A small, stable and low cost acousto-optical spectrometers for millimeter wave observations has been designed at the Astronomical Institute of Utrecht. The instrument has 2048 frequency channels in two bands with resolutions of 900 kHz and 125 kHz in overall bandwidths of 500 MHz and 50 MHz, respectively. The spectrometer fits in a 19 inch rack and we will describe the special measures to achieve high stability and high dynamic range.
