The solar array system of the Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) is described. Solar cells and Optical Solar Reflectors (OSRs) cover the sunshield which protects the cryogenic system of the telescope from direct illumination. The sunshield, separated into two parts creating a 150 degrees dihedral, is described. A 30C seasonal variation in solar array temperature results in a wide variation in power output. Ways in which this fluctuation power output are compensated for are described. Power profile optimization techniques are outlined.
