The design tolerance and specifications of a small-aperture long-baseline stellar optical interferometer being built in China are discussed in terms of astronomical requirements. Attention is given to measurement errors of fringe visibility, accuracy of the optical path length compensation, polarization effect, wavefront tilt and distortion, intensity inequality, and lateral and radial shearing of the wavefront.
