Helical Prominences-Keperus-Raadu Model-Evolution Of Current

A detailed analysis is made of the observed data of several eruptive prominence with helical structure. The same theoretical framework is used to discuss the distribution and evolution of their internal currents and the dynamics of the interaction between the currents and the background magnetic field. The results show: (1) The magnetic field and the currents have the force-free characteristics. (2) The interaction can well be described in terms of the Keperus-Raadu model. (3) Macroscopic kink instability of prominence plasma may be the main mechanism for transformation of the magnetic energy of the prominence. The theoretical calculations are basically self-consistent.
