In this project we derive relevant information regarding electron acceleration in solar flares from RHESSI hard X-ray total spectroscopic and imaging spectroscopic observations. We first search for a sample of solar flares with two footpoints and one looptop source, and follow Piana et al. (2006) to convert count visibility to electron visibility and reconstruct electron flux maps for these flares. We extract the effective electron spectra at the two footpoints and the looptop and use them to obtain the energy dependency of electron escape time from the acceleration region and other acceleration model characteristics.
