Two statistically complete sample of 13 FR II RGs and 13 QSRs are compared in terms of their polarization properties. Previous papers [Fernini et al. (1993), AJ, 105, 1690; Fernini et al. (1997), AJ, 114, 2292; and Bridle et al. (1994), AJ, 108, 766] have found that the jet detection rate in the 13 RGs stands at only two with no counterjets, whereas the jet and counterjet detection stand at 100% and 50%, respectively, for the 13 QSRs. Moderate depolarizations asymmetries between 6 and 20 cm are found between the lobes of the RGs compared to the strong asymmetries in the QSR sample. These results are then used to test the RG/QSR unification scheme of Barthel [ApJ (1989), 336, 606]. This work was supported by UAE University grant No. 99/11-2-04.
