The usage of narrow (E = 1020 eV, w = 20 eV) and wide (E = 1020 eV, w = 100 eV) energy windows for ions detection in PUMA-1 and PUMA-2 instruments allows to improve its characteristics for large dust particles with Q > 1 E - 13 C. The analysis of measured spectra shows that a mass resolution for small particles (Q < 1 E - 13 C) was high enough in both windows. For large particles the mass resolution for the narrow window didn't changed, but for the wide window the decrease of resolution was observed (to about 50). A relative transmittance Qs/Qn depends on the mass and in narrow window the depression of hydrogen was observed (especially for large particles); a detection of ions with A > 20 (Mg, Si, Ca, Fe, Ag) was more effective than in the wide window. It can be due to a higher energy of light ions (H) in the narrow energy window and a possible saturation of SEM in the wide window.
