It is pointed out that the determination of indexes characterizing the intensity of auroral electrojets with respect to horizontal components during magnetic storms requires data from subauroral observatories. As the initial intensity of a magnetic disturbance increases, so does its susceptibility to solar-wind parameters. The higher the level of the disturbance, the more intense is the western electrojet.
