Galaxies: Kinematics And Dynamics

Scientific paper

The analysis of stellar motions in a galaxy require a knowledge of several parameters as a function of distance to the center. At present the best table available is the one by de Vaucouleurs, but we feel it is insufficient. In this work we compute the necessary variables for more point and with the assumption of a constant M/L ratio within a given galaxy. We investigate the effect on the computed variables of minor variations in the coefficients of de Vaucouleurs' interpolation formula.
