We have used the Heinrich Hertz sub-mm telescope (HHT) to measure the J=3--2 and J=2--1 lines of (12) C(18) O and (12) C(16) O, and the J=3--2 line of (13) C(16) O toward 125 high density cores in the Orion streamer cataloged by Tatematsu et al.(1993). In addition, we have also measured the (J,K)=(1,1) and (2,2) inversion transitions of NH_3 from these sources. These results have been used to determine the kinetic temperatures, H_2 densities and column densities of H_2, CO and NH_3. Estimates of the stability of these cores, and comparisons of the properties of regions in the northern, middle and southern parts of the Orion streamer are made. Additional comparisons are made with other star formation regions such as the Taurus clouds.
