PRESENT versions of the Rose-Brezina system of meteorite classification include a Nedagolla group (Dn) of nickel poor ataxites which show a granulated structure1. The Nedagolla mass was observed to fall in 1870 and the main mass is preserved in the British Museum2. The nickel content is reliably established as 6.2-6.l per cent3,4, which is exceptionally low in relation to the other known members of Brown's gallium-germanium group IV (ref. 5). The presence of small amounts of silicate have been suspected3 and Nedagolla shares with Tucson, the other silicate-containing member of gallium-germanium group IV, an exceptionally high chromium content4,5.
