The deformations of planets which rotate about their axes and move in their orbits within the solar system are examined from the standpoint of complex loading: during their motion due to central forces and deformations (tidal forces), the planets affect the deformation of the sun itself. Results of complex loading experiments suggest a hypothesis for changes in solar activity due to changes in the magnitude and direction of the main vector of the central forces caused by the attraction of the planets and changes in tidal forces due to the rotation of the planets about their axes.
