An energy balance at the surface of the cometary nucleus leads to initial conditions for a hydrodynamic calculation from which the structure of the inner dust coma is obtained. The feedback of the insolation on the sublimation process is taken into account. In the outer dust coma spatial structure of the dust density is influenced by solar radiation pressure. Numerical results, illustrating the structure of the dust halo, are presented. The logical connection between parent and daughter parameters of the problem is illustrated by a flow chart. Simulation of the Giotto flyby shows that the satellite takes 91.32 min for its journey through the dust halo, collecting 1.784.104 particles/sq m.
