Deep CCD photometry reveals the luminosity function, in addition to features of the color magnitude diagram, of GlC0435-59 in the halo of the LMC. Data suggest that the horizontal branch is populated by a high number of RR Lyrae variables, and give a turn-off point at V = 22.45 + or - 0.1 and B-V = 0.35 + or -0.05. A low cluster metallicity value for the Fe/H abundance ratio (of -2.0 + or - 0.2) is derived from the color of the giant branch at the horizontal branch level. Comparison of the data with the isochrones of VandenBerg and Bell (1985) suggests an age in the 16-18 gyr range.
