After decades of work, we still do not know the physical conditions in the outflowing matter in broad absorption line quasars (BALQSOs). Highly saturated absorption lines in the UV and poor photon statistics in X-rays makes it hard to determine column density, ionization state, covering factor, etc. of the absorbing outflow. Here we present the first high signal to noise X-ray spectrum of the propotype BALQSO PHL 5200.
