QSOs are often classified into two broad categories, radio-loud and radio-quiet, but it remains unclear (a) whether the underlying distribution of radio luminosity in QSOs and broad-line (Type 1) AGN is really bimodal and (b) how the properties of the host galaxy (such as black-hole mass) affect radio-loudness. We will address these questions by measuring the distribution of 20 GHz radio luminosity in a complete sample of several hundred QSOs at redshift z<1.
