High-sensitivity observations of the S-components in Jupiter's sporadic radio emission were made with the UTR-2 telescope in the 10-23 MHz frequency range. The correlation between S-burst parameters (power, frequency drift, and maximum frequencies) and the magnetic field strength, and angular and linear velocities of the flux tube foot of Io is studied in relation to the longitude of the Joviographic meridian of the Io flux tube. It is concluded that S-burst storm sources are located in the southern polar regions. In addition, it is suggested that the transverse velocity of the southern end of Io's flux tube with respect to the magnetospheric plasma is one of the principal factors determining the generation and parameters of S-burst storms.
