We present the status of a 870 micron survey of debris disk candidate systems observed with the 10m Heinrich-Hertz Submillimeter Telescope on Mt. Graham, Arizona. Our sample includes main-sequence stars A0-K4 (approx. 0.8-2.5 Msun), selected based on the presence of far-infrared excess emission (above the photosphere) observed with IRAS. We use the submillimeter data to constrain the disk masses and radii of orbiting dust using standard assumptions about the grain properties. Preliminary results indicate the absence of large reservoirs of cold dust surrounding these stars at large radii.
Support for this work was provided by NASA through Contract Number 1224768 administered by JPL.
