Mid-IR and far-IR photometry obtained with the Multiband Imaging Photometer for Spitzer Space Telescope is presented of late B and early A dwarfs in the young open clusters IC 2602, NGC 3766, and IC 4665. Roughly 20% of these early type stars display moderate mid-IR excesses (1.0 < (K-[24])0 < 1.8) characteristic of unresolved dusty circumstellar disks. We also present photometry of stars serendipitously observed in the vicinity of IC 4665 to investigate the frequency of disks across a broader range of spectral types. Our current work will be used in ensuing efforts to explore the frequency of debris disks around A stars with age and stellar metallicity.
This work is based on observations made with the Spitzer Space Telescope, which is operated by JPL/Caltech under a contract with NASA. Support for this work was provided by NASA through Contract Number 1264113 from JPL/Caltech and an Indiana Space Grant Consortium Doctoral Fellowship.
