Data from Cosmos 480, 900, and 1067 are used to examine the structure of the daytime high-latitude solar-cosmic-ray (SCR) protons in conditions of moderate and intense magnetic disturbance during the SCR increases of April 18, 1972 and April 3, 1979. These increases were accompanied by a significant north-south asymmetry in SCR proton intensity above the polar caps. In addition, a comparison is made between SCR proton fluxes observed in the auroral zone and in interplanetary space.
