The MEGABASE database contains equatorial coordinates (J2000.0), proper motions, U,B,V,R magnitudes, spectral characteristics, parallaxes, radial velocities, and color indices of 35003 stars in 33 selected areas of the sky near the meridional section of the Galaxy. The results of the programs FON and MEGA, photometric observations in the Vilnius system, the data of Hill et al. (1988), samples from the Strasbourg Stellar Data Center database, as well as the HIPPARCOS input catalog have been used to compile the database. The author describes the database possibilities, statistics of the data, and the results of absolutization of stellar proper motions with respect to galaxies. The database is intended for kinematic simulation of the Galaxy in its meridional section.
