An example using the angular size-redshift relation is presented. Previously published angular sizes of clusters of galaxies are examined in order to see what, if anything, may be learned by allowing the density parameter and deceleration parameter to vary independently. It is shown that a more general analysis can lead to new information about probably evolution of cluster core sizes. In particular, while in the past some constraint on the cosmological constant facilitated data reduction, current cosmological data are of sufficient quality at large redshift to allow such constraints to be dropped.
