The Spitzer Wide-Area Infrared Extragalactic Survey (SWIRE) is the largest of the Spitzer Legacy programs. It has surveyed 50 square degrees of sky from 3.6 to 160 microns. These 50 square degrees were specifically chosen to be the lowest background contiguous regions on the sky, and the large volume encompassed by SWIRE makes it uniquely sensitive to detection of rare objects and large-scale structure. We describe here the processing of the Spitzer data, the resulting data products (catalogs and images), their validation, and the interfaces through which the data are publicly released.
