With astronomical data increasing in quality and quantity, data mining techniques show their superiority. It is rather convenient and significant for astronomers to extract information and knowledge from large amounts of data by means of automated methods. We introduce the process of data mining on multiwavelength data including data selection, data processing, feature selection/extraction, data mining algorithms and result evaluation. Examples are presented which invoke applications and relatioships of data across catalogs, in order to solve specific astronomical research problems. In the future these processes will be automated in the context of the virtual observatory.
