We investigate high latitude ionospheric structure by specification of ionospheric electron densities in three dimensions. This specification is accomplished with the Parameterized Real-Time Ionospheric Specification Model (PRISM) which has been developed by the Air Force Research Laboratory. We present the results of a comparison between PRISM and ground-truth relative TEC data taken by Transit satellite receivers operated by the University of Alaska at Fairbanks. The Transit satellites are at an altitude of 1000 km and an inclination of 90 degrees. Specifically, we show the improvement of PRISM results when given inputs from the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program in situ ionospheric sensors.
