Scientific paper

The paper describes the PDP11/70-based data acquisition and processing
system of the Rome Astronomical Observatory. The system can operate in
the multiprogramming regime and employs a PDP11/10 processor as the
'front end' for acquiring data from instruments. A block diagram of the
system is presented.
