Dark energy is a hypothetical form of energy which permeates all of space and has strong negative pressure. The South Pole Submillimeter Telescope is a 10m class radiotelescope under construction that will survey galaxy clusters in order to determine the equation of state of the dark energy. An important issue is that approximately 7% of the clusters will have their signature reduced by radio emission from galaxies in the cluster. We propose observations of these galaxies at short centimeter waves with the Australia Telescope Compact Array to quantify this effect.
