The Galactic Legacy Infrared Midplane Survey Extrodinaire (GLIMPSE) project, part of the Spitzer Space Telescope (SST) legacy programs, is successfully producing fascinating mosaiced images of the galactic plane at mid-infrared wavelengths. Some of the most interesting objects reveled by the survey are high-resolution images of dark clouds seen in silhouette against the diffuse, bright, galactic plane background. Their projected morphologies vary widely and probably indicate a wide range of physical structures. At 8 microns, we are able to image these dark clouds with a resolution of about 1".9, allowing us the opportunity to examine the morphology and optical depth via absorption of background intensity through the clouds. We present images and basic analysis of a range of dark clouds morphologies, and discuss questions raised by dark cloud structure. Support for this work, part of the Spitzer Space Telescope Legacy Science Program, was provided by NASA through contract 1224653 (University of Wisconsin).
