The present contribution aims to review some of the dissipative effects (isotropic and anisotropic viscosity, anisotropic thermal conduction, electrical resistivity, radiative damping) which may count for damping of linear compressional magnetohydrodynamic waves in quiescent solar prominences. Our theoretical results are compared with the recent observations of wave attenuation (damping) in solar prominences.
