Since early in 2002 Cygnus X-3 had been in an unusually long quiescent state ( 1300 days). At the start of 2006 Cygnus X-3 transitioned from a radio quiescent (low/hard) state to a flaring (high/soft) state. Among the activities that have been observed are an extended quenched state (high X-ray, very low radio, and very low hard X-ray emission), rapid (< 1 day) bright flares ( 3 Jy), and a major radio flare ( 14 Jy). During this active state there has been underway a major international multi-wavelength observing campaign. This campaign includes observations in the radio, IR, UV, X-ray, hard X-ray, and Gamma-ray. Ground based observations were made with the Ryle Telescope, the RATAN-600, and PAIRITEL. Target of Opportunity observations have been made with Chandra, INTEGRAL, RXTE, and Swift. Among the observations performed were Chandra HETG/ACIS observations during the quenched state (showing phase variable lines) and the first INTEGRAL observations of Cygnus X-3 during a major flare. In this presentation an overview of the observing campaign will be given and initial results and discoveries will be presented.
