Solar Network: Polar Regions

Scientific paper

The structure of the solar polar region was studied on the basis of an investigation of spectroheliograms in the Hα and K Ca II lines, taken at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory of the USSR Academy of Sciences during 1956 - 1969 and 1973 - 1977. Inhomogeneity in the structure and its definite periodicity have been detected. The activity of bright network elements and the boundary between the polar and low latitude regions are anticorrelated with respect to the low latitude activity.
