The paper gives a description of some aspects of the fabrication of the primary and secondary surfaces of the Multiple Mirror Telescope (MMT) and reports on some tests to which the mirrors have been subjected. Tools and test setups are described and some interferograms of the surfaces are presented. The general concept employed in mounting the optical components is discussed, and a sketch of the concept for the finished site is shown.
