A balloon-borne germanium gamma-ray telescope was again flown over Alice Springs, Australia, to search for 511 keV positron-annihilation radiation from the galactic center direction. The result for the line flux was (0.6±4.4)x10-4 photons cm-2s-1, indicating that the source was in an "off", or "low", state in the fall of 1984.
