The mathematical formulation of the solar-sailing transfer problem is presented for use in mission analysis for a space-based antenna system for SETI. Partial solutions to the solar-sailing transfer problem are obtained, involving earth escape and close flyby of the operational location. The relevance of these solutions to work on the problem of optimal control for component deployment of a SETI space-based antenna system operating in the vicinity of the sun-earth transterrestrial libration point is considered.
