Dark energy models differ in their predictions of the structure evolution in the universe. This can be investigated using several cosmological probes, such as cosmic microwave background anisotropies, galaxy clustering, weak lensing and Ly-alpha forest. I will review existing and future constraints that can be obtained from these studies and how these can be used to test fundamental theories of dark energy.
