We discuss the excess gamma-ray emission seen from the direction of CTA 1, a supernova remnant, in the energy range of 100 MeV to 10 GeV with the EGRET instrument. The X-ray emission peak of CTA 1 seen by ROSAT falls within the 95% EGRET likelihood contour giving rise to the possibility that a central source is responsible for the high energy emission. We consider the probability that pulsars are responsible for most of the EGRET SNR candidate source emission.
