Cross sections for electron-impact excitation have been measured for 73 transitions (2600-8000 A) belonging to the six main series of the He I spectrum. All cross sections have been determined as functions of electron energy from excitation threshold to 250 eV. The power-law dependence of the cross sections on the principal quantum number of the upper level is discussed.
