Examples of fold-and-thrust belts from a variety of tectonic settings on
Venus are introduced. Predictions for the mechanics of fold-and-thrust
belts on Venus are examined on the basis of wedge theory, rock mechanics
data, and currently known conditions on Venus. The theoretical
predictions are then compared with new Magellan data.
