After a discussion of the general properties of supernova remnants and the particular radio features which distinguish the filled-center or Crab-like remnants from the more normal shell-type remnants, the radio properties of the presently known five Crab-types are covered in more detail. It is then proposed that these objects, and any other members of this class of supernova remnants, are not only different in their radio properties but also have a different origin, maintenance mechanism, and lifetime than the vast majority of supernova remnants. Because of their filled center radio form, the name of plerion is suggested for this type of supernova remnant.
