On the basis of the Givens-Gentleman algorithm of covariance analysis, a program to deal with real data is coded. When the program is applied to the GM solution, the errors of the station coordinates are taken into consideration. The real sigmas are shown to be larger than the computed ones, and this means a degradation of accuracy. The explanation for and implication of the result are discussed.
