The Cosmos-428 detected a great number of discrete sources of hard (of energy greater than 30 KeV) X-rays, with the most intense sources concentrated in the Galactic plane (between 330 and 360 degrees latitude). The total number of discrete sources in the Galaxy was found to be about 75 and their mean luminosity, about 1.5 x 10 to the 38 erg/s in the 30-200 KeV interval. Comparison of spectra in this range with lower energy data permits the identification of a class of sources with 'plane' spectra extending to 200-300 KeV. The possibility of identifying these sources with binary stars observed by the Uhuru satellite is discussed.
