A solution of the gravitational field equations is found which corresponds to a cosmological, Robertson-Walker metric having hyperbolic space-sections. The solution is used to given boundary values for local, post-Newtonian solutions of the field equations, and the post-Newtonian parameters are found to agree with observation. The possibility that local solutions which correspond to large, concentrated masses may differ qualitatively at different epochs suggests that catastrophic events in, for example, quasars may have a gravitational cause.
