Curvature of space-time is described, and examples to explain four-dimensional curved spaces are presented, including discussions of positive (closed space), zero (Euclidean), and negative curvature hypotheses. Methods used in the determination of curvature are evaluated, such as the perfect cosmological principle and the steady-state theory. The theory of the cosmological constant is outlined as a theory for an evolving universe, and two classes of solutions of equations are described: the big bang theory, and those where the universe starts with a finite size. Attention is paid to several theories of mean density calculation of the universe.
