The results obtained by Schmutzer (1988) for a homogeneous and isotropic dust model of the universe in the framework of a five-dimensional projective unified-field theory are extended to account for possible variations in the scalar cosmological parameter gamma. Detailed derivations are given for three cases with gamma = + or - 1/2; the integration by means of the Abel differential equation and the second-order approximation in gamma are discussed; and the temporal evolution of gamma and of the world radii K and k is shown in graphs.
